Frequently asked questions.

What to expect in the first session

You can expect to benefit from your first session. We will start with a discussion around the theme of the session so you can understand how I view the issue and how it can be overcome. Then we’ll venture into a hypnosis.

How many sessions will I need?

Depending on your personal situation, a package of sessions may be required to achieve your desired outcome. This will be discussed in our first free-initial call.

Really? Hypnosis via video call?

Hypnotherapy via video call is widely and successfully used across the globe. I consistently receive positive feedback from my clients, affirming its effectiveness. To learn more, book a free call or check out this page for a detailed outline of why video call hypnotherapy works.

Do I need to lie down?

I usually request that people are seated with 2 feet flat on the floor to minimize the temptation to fall asleep.

Do I need to have my eyes closed?

You do not need to have you eyes closed, but most people find it easier to drift down into a state of relaxation with their eyes closed.

It hasn’t worked for me in the past - will it work this time?

The effectiveness of hypnotherapy is influenced by various factors; not only the techniques used by the hypnotherapist, but also your openness to the process, your willingness to participate and the specific goals you wish to achieve. Also, a sense of safety with me as your hypnotherapist will be paramount to your capacity to allow yourself to let go and release attachment to conscious thought.

What issues can hypnosis help with?

Whether the issue most pressing for you is about weight loss, an old habit, a fear, birth preparation or processing, a phobia, IBS, unhelpful limiting self-beliefs or pain management, hypnosis is a powerful and effective tool. Checkout this list for other reasons to engage in hypnotherapy with me.

Will I remember the session?

You may recall the general outline or certain aspects of the session, but not necessarily the detail. In sessions where Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques are employed, you might be more conscious of the experience and therefore retain more detail. I encourage clients, both during and after the session, to avoid overanalyzing cognitively and instead focus on recognizing the deeper unconscious shifts.

Will you have control over my mind?

No, hypnotherapy is a collaborative experience. If you do not wish to participate or engage in a particular experience, you simply will not. For instance, clients who seek hypnosis to quit smoking at the behest of a spouse or family member, without a genuine personal desire to quit, will find the session ineffective. Hypnotherapy facilitates deep unconscious change through your own willingness and active participation.

What if the internet disconnects?

If our session is via zoom should we lose our internet connection you will not remain in a state of hypnosis, you will simply become aware of the silence, and we will reconnect.

Entertainment hypnosis V’s hypnotherapy

Stage hypnosis involves a hypnotist selecting candidates from an audience and performing protocols to identify the most suggestible individuals for entertainment purposes. This minimizes the hypnotist's effort and maximizes the show's entertainment value by giving suggestions to willing participants.

In contrast, hypnotherapy also uses specific protocols to guide clients into a suggestible or relaxed state, but its purpose is therapeutic, not entertaining. As a professional hypnotherapist, I provide insightful understanding of the issues you face, how they are experienced, and how they can be overcome. Through tailored sessions, I help you harness the power of your subconscious mind to achieve positive, lasting change.
